It seems to me that Americans who convert to Islam here in America (I mean, as opposed to converting somewhere else) really have no idea what living as a Muslim will be like, after having grown up under an American value system and the freedoms and liberties that come with that. I think American Muslim-converts think their practice of their (new) religion will be just like any other religion in America. Then they get in there, start practicing their faith, meeting other Muslims, reading more about Islam, moving is Islamic social circles, and they start to become more inculcated in it. I truly believe that it is not possible to be an authentic Muslim and an authentic American at the same time. They two do not mix. When they try to mix, Islam will always try to take the place of patriotism or any semblance of a normal American life. Islam must consume all.

Woman pleads guilty to killing bigamist spouse

NORRISTOWN, Pennsylvania — A woman pleaded guilty Friday to third-degree murder for killing her bigamist husband just hours before he was to leave for Morocco to visit his second wife.

Myra Morton, 48, was upset about the new marriage and her husband’s plans to have children with the younger woman, authorities have said. She shot her 47-year-old husband, Jereleigh Morton, twice in the head in August while he slept, and initially blamed an intruder.

She faces from five to 20 years in prison, said defense lawyer Brian McMonagle.

“I don’t think there’s any question in anybody’s mind that the act was intentional,” McMonagle said. “We have always maintained that it was based on a lot of passion, and it was caused by the emotional turmoil that she was going through.”

Jereleigh Morton met his second wife, 37-year-old Zahra Toural, last year on the Internet, prosecutors said. In keeping with Muslim custom, Myra Morton traveled to Morocco to bless the marriage, but police say she grew to resent the arrangement.

Her husband allegedly said that if she didn’t like it, she should get a divorce.

The Mortons had converted to Islam about 20 years ago.

As Myra Morton’s resentment about the second marriage grew, she wrote the U.S. State Department a letter in April 2007 in which she said Toural had terrorist ties. She hoped the letter would keep Toural away from the U.S., authorities have said.

Toural last month responded with a defamation suit against Myra Morton.

Myra Morton spent about 20 years working at Temple University as a secretary before she and her husband received a reported $8 million medical settlement in 2005 over the death of a teenage daughter. They moved with their surviving daughter from a North Philadelphia rowhouse to a $1 million house in the suburbs.

“All she (Morton) cares about are that her daughter and her granddaughter get their inheritance, and are provided for,” McMonagle said. “That is always a concern, particularly when you have so many hands reaching for this money.”

Getting Back in the Saddle

Man, I have not blogged in several days. To tell the truth, I have a lot on my mind. I’ve got work stuff going on and that’s taken a bad turn, plus I’m going out of the country in 6 weeks for vacation and I’m freaked that I’m in over my head budget-wise planning for it. But also I have a head full of ideas about blogging and I’m finding it’s harder to get into action than it is to get into thought. That has me stressed, too. Because when I started this Project I really wanted to give my heart and soul to it, because I believe so much in it.

I will endeavor to be more dilligent and disciplined about my tasks. And anyone reading this, I’d be awfully grateful to you if you would say a prayer for me regarding my work situation. It really needs some help and real soon.

I have just about 30 minutes to blog tonight because my favorite show, Lost, is coming back on with a brand new episode. I don’t know what’s going to happen because this time I haven’t seen any previews but whatever it is, it’s sure to confuse me. That show makes me happy and crazy all at once!

Now, let me get some blogging time in for next half hour or so…

Italy’s Illegal Migrants

The new Prime Minister of Italy, Silvio Berlusconi (who is a conservative) is in some hot water because of recent comments he made referring to illegal migrants in Italy as “an army of evil”. I’m a huge opponent of illegal immigration and illegal migration in my own country, so I’m definitely going to be on the side of the Italian PM when it comes to this subject. But I was very curious about his incredibly strong wording, so I had to dig around a bit to see who these migrants are…i.e. where they are coming from. Who could they be, where could they be from, that would cause such an outburst? I could only take one guess. And it appears my suspicions are confirmed:

They are from North Africa.

Not that I guessed North Africa.

They are specifically from Libya.

Not that I guessed Libya either.

Libyans are Muslim.

Now THAT’S what I was guessing. Muslims. Continuing their encroachment upon the west, whether by abuse of our freedoms, breaking our immigration laws, or by breeding. And you can bet Berlusconi has their number.

Brigitte Bardot vs. the Muslims

This is an interesting part of the saga of Islam’s fast and growing hold on Europe. The great screen legend, 73- year old Brigitte Bardot, also well-known for her decades long interest in animal rights activism, is in trouble with the French legal system for supposedly “provoking discrimination and racial hatred” against the Muslims. What did she do wrong? Well, she basically told the Muslim community in France to go eff themselves. The story is here. I’m not a major animal rights person myself but anything that pisses off the Muslims and makes them face the reality that they cannot force their culture on the rest of the world, is fine by me. And you can bet her issues with the Muslims aren’t only related to how they slaughter sheep. I think Brigitte is of the generation that has watched the encroachment of Muslim culture for several decades now. She knows what’s the what.

Brigitte’s a freedom fighter!

(She’s also a notorious loon, but I’m going to overlook that under the circumstances.)

 UPDATE: Another link here. Looks like Brigitte has been sounding the warning bell about Muslims in France for over a DECADE now and she is being persecuted for it on the grounds of “inciting racial hatred”. Un-freakin-real. Excerpt: 

PARIS (Reuters) – French former film star Brigitte Bardot went on trial on Tuesday for insulting Muslims, the fifth time she has faced the charge of “inciting racial hatred” over her controversial remarks about Islam and its followers.

Prosecutors asked that the Paris court hand the 73-year-old former sex symbol a two-month suspended prison sentence and fine her 15,000 euros (12,071 pounds) for saying the Muslim community was “destroying our country and imposing its acts”.

Since retiring from the film industry in the 1970s, Bardot has become a prominent animal rights activist but she has also courted controversy by denouncing Muslim traditions and immigration from predominantly Muslim countries.

She has been fined four times for inciting racial hatred since 1997, at first 1,500 euros and most recently 5,000.

Word Byte: Jihad is Now

Its not an ancient dream to conquer the West.

Constantinople fell 500 years ago. Only 300 years ago we beat them back before the gates of Vienna. 200 years ago Thomas Jefferson fought the Barbary Pirates. In the last 100 years Islam spread continually throughout Africa and Asia. The Armenian Christians and the Greeks of Turkey were all but wiped out. Cyprus was overrun only 30 years ago and the West is not united in demanding the Turks to return it. The global jihad continues in 30 + theaters of war around the world.

And we still allow them to infiltrate our countries, to spy on us, to subvert our laws and abuse democratic institutions to further their cause: all of that is jihad.

The jihad is permanent and relentless…

Word Byte: Islamic Time Travel

Here’s a great one. Funny how the Muslims always flow back in time, never forward. From poster “tanstaafl” at Jihad Watch. 

An impartial observer must conclude that Western Civilization has outpaced Islam in all of these categories [political, economic, social, moral, and intellectual] since the 7th Century. The only times Islam has flourished has been immediately after conquering thriving civilizations and then feasting off the ruins. When the survivors of those civilizations are converted, enslaved, killed or forced into dhimmitude, Islamic cultures retreats into its 7th Century model.

No Ill Intent From Muslims in the U.S.

That’s what we’re being told, aren’t we? We’ve also been told that there are no Islamic terror cells in the U.S., haven’t we? And we know this is all cockadoodledoo, don’t we? For if that and this were really the case then why has the U.S. captured, tried, convicted and sentenced numerous Muslims for terrorist plots (and other crimes in the name of Islam) on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001? Who is aiding, abetting and funding these animals if there are no Muslims here who want to harm us and if there are no terrorist cells?

From the freedom fighters over at Jihad Watch comes this list. I could just post the link and anyone who stops by here may or may not bother to click on it, but it deserves to be re-posted in all its blazing glory. Really, I wish more people could look at this. Stalinsky: Dealing in Death [Conclusion]

Liberal Egyptian playwright Ali Salem mocked articles such as those by Al-Naggar in the Arab media. In a satiric column published in the London daily Al-Hayat, Salem sarcastically suggested opening a kindergarten to teach terrorist values: “You will easily notice that they love life, and that is the weak point that we will exploit. We, in contrast, love death and protect it. Do not believe that Allah created life for us to live, build, and enjoy. [No,] Allah created us to test our ability to rebel against life, to despise it, and to get rid of it at the earliest opportunity. Each and every one of you must seek out your first chance to die — but you must not die for free…You must know, dear children, that our martyrs gain entry to Paradise, while their dead are [sentenced] to the fires of Hell. These idiots do not believe in Paradise, in the fires of Hell, or in the Day of Judgment.” Tunisian intellectual Al-Afif Al-Akhdar asked in an article for the liberal Arabic-language website www.elaph.com: “Why do expressions of tolerance, moderation, rationalism, compromise, and negotiation horrify us [Muslims], but [when we hear] fervent cries for vengeance, we all dance the war dance?… Why do other people love life, while we love death and violence, slaughter and suicide, and [even] call it heroism and martyrdom?”

As the war on terror continues, the voices coming from the Arab and Muslim world celebrating death over life have been heard more often than those criticizing this philosophy. An editorial in the Lebanese Daily Star on May 13, 2004, warned of what might happen if this issue is not addressed: “The region’s kings, princes, and presidents need to learn a valuable lesson from this abhorrent incident: that fractured societies produce real-life theaters of shame like the Berg murder in a systemic manner, and that similar fractures are infecting their own societies. If the Berg beheading does not catapult the region’s leaders from the world of lethargy to the world of vigorous action to establish law and order in their own societies — and beginning with themselves — then they will be considerably weakened…. What more is needed to galvanize Arab leaders into action? Today, a man named Berg was put to the sword; tomorrow, it could be the Arab nation torn asunder by the same savagery.”

Stalinsky: Dealing in Death [Part 2]

This is Part 2 of Stalinksy’s excellent article on the Islamic culture of death. Part 1 with my introduction is here.

Leading Muslim clerics often refer to the love of death. Chief Palestinian Authority cleric Mufti Sheikh Ikrimeh Sabri stated, “We tell them, in as much as you love life, the Muslim loves death and martyrdom. There is a great difference between he who loves the hereafter and he who loves this world. The Muslim loves death and [strives for] martyrdom.” Saudi Sheikh Abd Al-Muhsin Al-Qassem in Al-Madina added: “The Jews preached permissiveness and corruption, as they hid behind false slogans like freedom and equality, humanism and brotherhood… They are cowards in battle… they flee from death and fear fighting… They love life.”

Former head of the Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee Sheikh Atiyyah Saqr was asked the following question in an online chat room on March 22, 2004: “What, according to the Koran, are the Jews’ main characteristics and qualities?” He explained one of their worst traits: “Cowardice and love for this worldly life are undisputable traits [of the Jews].” Hezbollah’s Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah revealed in an interview after the recent prisoner swap between Israel and his group: “We have discovered how to hit the Jews where they are the most vulnerable. The Jews love life, so that is what we shall take away from them. We are going to win, because they love life and we love death.”

Abdallah Al-Naggar, a religious columnist for the Egyptian government daily Al-Gumhuriya, has written about the differences between a “Muslim believer’s” approach to death and that of his non-Muslim enemies: “The believers in Allah rightly do not dread their enemies and do not fear [waging a] jihad, because they see jihad as a profitable bargain, selling their lives to Allah [to get paradise in return]. Their enemies protect their [own] lives, as criminals do. [Allah] has already said about them: ‘You will find that they are the people who protect their [own] life more than anyone else.’… The believers do not fear the enemy [during] the struggle and do not protect their lives. Allah has promised them one of two good things: [either] victory or martyrdom…. Yet their enemies protect [their] lives like a miser protects his money. They do not give [their lives] easily; they do not enter into battles seeking martyrdom; they do not act in order [to attain] martyrdom. This is the secret of the believers’ victory over their enemies — though the believers are few and the polytheists many, with advanced weaponry and equipment.”

Stalinsky: Dealing in Death [Part 1]

Whilst researching Islamic culture I came across an article by Steven Stalinsky titled “Dealing in Death”, from May 14, 2004 for National Review Online, published just after the death of Nicholas Berg. It is quite a shocking–but excellent–overview of the Islamic jihadist culture of death. In his article Stalinsky unlocks the “secret” of why Islam is so consumed with violence and death: because, Stalinsky rightfully asserts, non-Muslims love life. It is life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that the Islamists see as the weakness of the Jews, the Americans, the Christians, the West…indeed the entire non-Muslim world. It’s an an enlightening read. Although it isn’t very long I will post it in 3 parts because it’s easier to absorb that way. I have only bolded some parts for emphasis.

In the war on terrorism, major battles from early Islamic history serve as inspiration for those fighting against the West. As al Qaeda associate Abu Musab al-Zarqawi beheaded American Nicholas Berg in Iraq last week, he asked, “Is it not time for you [Muslims] to take the path of jihad and carry the sword of the Prophet of prophets?… The Prophet, the most merciful, ordered [his army] to strike the necks of some prisoners in [the battle of] Badr and to kill them… And he set a good example for us. As for you, Bush, dog of the Christians, anticipate what will harm you… And you will only get shroud after shroud and coffin after coffin slaughtered in this manner.”

Another chapter from early Islamic history — serving as a lesson for today’s Muslims at war against the West — is the concept of the love of death. This originated at the Battle of Qadisiyya in the year 636, when the commander of the Muslim forces, Khalid ibn Al-Walid, sent an emissary with a message from Caliph Abu Bakr to the Persian commander, Khosru. The message stated: “You [Khosru and his people] should convert to Islam, and then you will be safe, for if you don’t, you should know that I have come to you with an army of men that love death, as you love life.” This account is recited in today’s Muslim sermons, newspapers, and textbooks.

In his speech of March 19, 2004, President Bush referred to this concept: “On a tape claiming responsibility for the atrocities in Madrid, a man is heard to say, ‘We choose death, while you choose life.’… It is a mindset that rejoices in suicide, incites murder, and celebrates every death we mourn. And we who stand on the other side of the line must be equally clear and certain of our convictions. We do love life…. We believe in the values that uphold the dignity of life, tolerance, and freedom, and the right of conscience. And we know that this way of life is worth defending. There is no neutral ground — no neutral ground — in the fight between civilization and terror, because there is no neutral ground between good and evil, freedom and slavery, and life and death.”

Word Byte: The Islamic Meaning of Peace

In my reading and researching I often come across really great comments from “regular joes” out there, freedom-loving people who have their eye on the Islamic threat that so many, many people want to ignore, dodge and evade. Occasionally, I would like to post some of these comments. Sometimes I don’t have a link to credit back to the person who made the comment. In that case I would just use whatever name they posted under and the place I saw the comment.

In Arabic, “Embrace Islam and you shall have peace” is simply a two-word pun: “Aslam taslam”, which most literally means “Submit, have peace.” In fact, perpetual warfare — that is, jihad — has been the true legacy of Muhammad’s philosophy since the beginning.

The Coalition of the Silent and Unwilling

I came across an excellent commentary on Islam from a German perspective. I like it because it speaks to this currently prevalent notion that “most Muslims” are peaceful which I don’t completely buy. I’ll get to the German perspective in a minute.

I think this is a point that needs to be made over and over: So-called “peaceful” Muslims (and there are those) don’t really matter. It’s nonsense to continually refer to “peaceful Muslims” whenever the topic of radical Muslims is raised. The fact that there are “good Muslims” in the world is beside the point! This doesn’t change the fact one iota that we are facing a very real and very present danger from radical Islamists. Don’t talk to me about “good Muslims”. They don’t even figure into this.

Whenever anyone tries to have a conversation with certain types of people about Islam and violence, the response is almost–hands down–always “but not all Muslims are violent”, “that’s just a small group of radicals”, “most Muslims are peaceful”, “Muslims in the United States aren’t killing people, that just happens in the middle east where people are more uneducated”. And on and on and on. In reality none of these responses hold any weight.

First point: What exactly constitutes “a small group”? Is it 100 radicals? Is it 10,000 radicals? Is it 1,000,000 radicals? Is it half a billion radicals? Exactly what do people think constitutes a large enough group to finally recognize the threat that we are facing?

Second point: There are most certainly Muslims in the U.S. trying to cause us very great harm, both physically and ideologically. A list was posted at Jihad Watch of 100 Muslims in the United States who have been accused, tried, convicted and sentenced for violent plots and other crimes in the name of Islam since September 11, 2001. And this is while our government is telling us there are no terrorist cells in the U.S. Lies! So don’t tell me “Muslims in the U.S. don’t want to harm anyone”. I’m going to post that list here some time this week. [3/7 Edit: Here is the list]

Third point: Most middle eastern Muslim nations are oil-rich, thus they are wealthy and have all the same opportunities for education (which cultivates cultural awareness and intellectual and spiritual enlightenment) as western nations do. So the excuse that these countries are just uneducated and backwards does not hold water. It’s true–they are backwards, but they are not all uneducated. Many rich Arab countries send their kids (usually the sons) to American and European universities. But these young Arabs return home just as backwards-thinking as when they left. It’s not lack of money and lack of education that makes Muslims narrow-minded and ignorant. It’s Islam.

Fourth and last point: It may be fair to say that “most” Muslims are peace-loving. But then again, aren’t we sort of playing with semantics when we say that? Because “peace” is not just “an absence of violence”. Peace is a state of the heart, mind and soul when human beings live together in a genuine spirit of brotherhood with one another, working together to create a harmonious community based on good-will, freedom and respect. That is peace. Remaining silent and passive while millions of your co-religionists use your “sacred scriptures” to wage violent jihad around the world is not “peace” in my opinion. I may be over-reaching here but I really believe that if the “silent majority” of so-called peaceful Muslims do not begin to speak up then we need to start questioning exactly what the nature of their silence is. Is it fear…or something worse? Something, perhaps, more akin to the silence of approval? Maybe this is what we don’t want to face yet: Muslim complicity through silence.

With these thoughts in mind, here is a German perspective on Islam. I nipped it from American Congress for Truth.

A German’s point of view on Islam.

A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

‘Very few people were true Nazis ‘he said,’ but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.

‘We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectra of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history.

It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is that the ‘peaceful majority’, the ’silent majority’, is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant.

China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun. Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghanis, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.
