Blind, Deaf, and Dumb Kumbaya Liberalism

UPDATE: Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch has some real good commentary on Obama’s views on Islamic jihad as well.

Michelle Malkin has penned an excellent article on Barack “The Golden Calf” Obama’s pitiful and ignorant views on Islam and jihad, and its threat to our way of life and the world at large. Michelle astutely describes Obama’s clueless naivete as “blind, deaf, and dumb Kumbaya liberalism”. Exerpt of the article below. Full text here. It’s a real good read.

You’ll note, too, that Obama’s fresh instinct in the week after the 9/11 attack was to diagnose it as a “tragedy” stemming from lack of “empathy” and “understanding”–instead of yet another deliberate, carefully planned evil act of the long-waged Islamic war on the West that it was.

As for Obama’s continued delusion about the “climate of poverty and ignorance” that supposedly breeds Muslim terrorists, can American politicians ever rid themselves of this unreality-based trope? This belief is part and parcel of the same idiocy that lead the State Department to embrace “spa days” for Muslims to “build bridges” with the Arab world and President Bush to open up our aviation schools to more Saudi students to “improve understanding.” John McCain also alluded to education-as-cure for Islamic terrorism at the L.A. World Affairs Council in March, when he declared that “In this struggle, scholarships will be far more important than smart bombs.” Just what we need: more student visas for the jihadi-infested nation that sent us the bulk of the 9/11 hijackers.

And as I’ve reported before and must reiterate again for the hard of hearing in Washington, lowering academic standards at American colleges helped al Qaeda mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed further the jihadi cause. In the early 1980s, he enrolled at tiny Chowan College in Murfreesburo, N.C., which had dropped its English requirements to attract–ahem–wealthy Middle Easterners.

There’s an extremely strong likelihood that this man is going to be our next President. For 4 years and possibly for 8 years. When you consider the sheer depth of his lack of experience, his cluelessness, his lack of conviction (about anything at all), and his drive for manipulating and deceiving Americans with empty rhetoric, there is plenty of reason to be very, very worried about not only the safety of our nation but also the safety of our allies when he takes Office.

I have said it before and I’ll say it again: At this moment in human history we are facing a clear and present danger–the threat of global jihad, the spread of Islam, and the subjugation of all free people to the tyrannical Islamic law called Sharia. This is a threat to the world at large but as far as America is concerned we have probably not faced a threat like this in the entire history of our young nation. At this moment that we are facing such grave danger to our way of life and to the future that our children will inherit, we need to be very concerned and not take lightly how harmful the Obama Presidency will be. It would be a gross underestimation to write him off as just another politician that we don’t like, just another liar, just another ambitious Machiavelli. Hell, we survived 8 years of Clinton and 8 years of Bush, so we’ll survive Obama. Right? WRONG. The difference is not in the man. The difference is in the period of history we are living in. We simply cannot afford Barack Obama as President right now. Maybe 20 years ago we could afford 4 years of this charlatan, but not now.
